Paradise Shores RV Park Trout Project Update
April 2006

After weeks of preparation including snow and ice removal, our lakeshore facility has received a stunning delivery of over 18,000 fingerling brown trout on Friday, March 31st. The tireless efforts of Paradise Shores RV Park resort owners and facility managers Eric and Michelle Gehrung have been rewarded.

The expert transport care provided by Dave McFarland of American Trout and Salmon, combined with their spotless preparation has resulted in a loss of less than 5% of the delivered fingerlings. As of this update the trout are doing far better than expected with just a few losses since the delivery. The cold water temperatures (38 degrees) and weather conditions will continue to challenge our volunteers for the next several weeks.

As we move forward in search of new facility locations to grow our browns, we want to thank those who help keep our Program, and our brown trout, alive.
